I’ve been tweaking the site under the hood and it feels noticeably different (read faster) now that I’m done.

The rain can make me feel creative, however, today I do not let it guide me so much.

The pitfalls that age brings, whether it be cognitive decline or physical pain and inflammation are almost certainly real.

To add unintelligible value to this post, here’s a lyric from my song “Jimmy the Fair Man”:

Jimmy was a fair man. He was warm but he was mean. You never got on his bad side.

Always on a lark, part of the scene, you cross him up and you pay the price.

This song lyric was not inspired by anyone real named Jim. However it could be related to cognitive and/or physical issues generally speaking and as cited above.

Also, the lyric’s publicizing was neither inspired by anyone or anything except possibly the rain and clouds.

Bad stuff comes out of the screen sometimes, especially in movies and/or TV shows.

Lately, AI has been associated with some bad feedback. And, inability to stay within AI safety guardrails is giving some people and companies pause, although I cannot cite any specific examples. You can take my word for it, but you don’t have to. It’s still a free country last time I checked, though. This is how I deal with attribution sometimes–I just don’t give any real world examples on topics I open up on (unless I do, as freedom of the press is paramount).

I love how everyone says AI will make us more productive; it doesn’t, it just allows us to produce voluminous mediocre content that ultimately requires editing by a human.

All said, AI is not that scary to me as I have a pretty good idea that there is more good than bad to come from it.

One thing to note is that people will not be better writers because of AI. In fact, the quality of their writing could be worse should they become too dependent on AI’s error-in-fact style.

I’m trying to get these words for this post down on digital paper as fast as I can (but not as fast as AI would).

I dealt with a representative from my host service earlier this week who wanted to sell me on a collective package of AI resources that would exponentially (my words, not theirs) increase my creativity. The problem with this notion is AI is not that creative to begin with. It’s more like a robot trying to write the great American novel. The tech is not quite there yet, but it’s good enough for most web sites that are in their infancy.

The rep went on to relate that there are only so many things they can do behind the scene to increase performance. Support areas are still in silos, unfortunately. And, their main selling points are mediocre increased writing content, especially for those of us who learned a long time ago on something called pencil meets paper.

It’s basically an increased number of robotic sounding articles in spite of the earnestness of all the prompts the AI receives. Nothing can take the place of actual literate humans completing the creative work. I do give credit where credit is due and that is where replicating vast amounts of inhuman-like writing is deemed good enough for most work.

Pilates as physical fitness routine

I signed up for the value pack and while it may be a coincidence, my hip feels better. I don’t know if it’s because of the movements or what, but no matter, I’m going to keep going with it.

Retirement and structure update

Definitely going to continue “trying” to write more regularly. The blog was out of commission for two days this week, however, no excuses. I’m back to writing again.
