Is it just me or does the memory of the snow and flash of winter a little over a week ago seem like a distant memory as temperatures skyrocket and clothes get shed faster than a Kentucky Derby winner?

We were all sick of winter and now with barely time to take down the last of the holiday decorations we are all enjoying opening the windows, getting some fresh air, and starting the warm-weather fun and good times.

I wrote that a week ago and it still mostly applies except for places like Boulder and Denver, CO.

I’m not quite ready for the hot temperatures of summer.

Today, actually, I’m not quite ready for much of anything.

I’m experiencing a spring ahead Daylight Savings slump.

I don’t care about saving daylight. I’d prefer we just pick one time zone and stick to it no matter what time of the year it is.

I do like the days getting shorter when October rolls around (or whenever it is that Daylight Non-Savings goes into effect), as darkness has a way of keeping everyone inside and safe from harm.

In Broad Daylight

Perhaps darkness poses its own set of issues and safety concerns, especially if the power goes out during a spring storm featuring heavy, wet snow the likes of which parts of Colorado are experiencing now.

So, no matter whether you have long days or not, the day is actually long under the set of challenges it brings to all of us each day. The number of hours every day is always 24.

Even though I got decent sleep last night, spring ahead always knocks me on my butt system-wise. Fall back, on the other hand… Don’t get me started on how much I love that extra hour of sleep when it happens.

The Tax Man cometh

Just wanted to say that. It actually may be the tax woman who cometh. Just depends on the schedule.

I’d just like to say that having to contend with taxes two times in less than a year (due to last year’s COVID-related extension), is not high on my list of favorite things. It is a favorite thing to have completed tax preparation once that does happen though.

Flat tax, round tax, or traditional tax. Again, just wanted to say all that in the same sentence fragment. No matter what you call it, it’s still taxes.

Spring Training is half over

Matt Carpenter of the Cardinals was still searching for his first spring training hit as of a couple of days ago. That’s not the way to make the right impression. Carpenter’s been a great Cardinal both on and off the field during his time in St. Louis. It’s hard to shake the feeling that his decline is real, though, and he may end up being more off the field than on. Here’s hoping Carp can rejuvenate enough that he makes the final roster and is able to play a significant role for the team with his glove and bat.

The iMac baked graphics card is still working!

I haven’t heard anything from the person who owns the iMac. So, I can only assume it’s still functioning two weeks later. Big Yay!
