Been tweaking the site under the hood and it feels noticeably different (read faster) now that I’m done.

The rain can make me feel creative, however, today I did not let it guide me so much.

The pitfalls that age brings, whether it’s cognitive decline or physical are most certainly real.

This is a story about Jimmy the Fair Man.

Jimmy was a fair man. He was warm and he was mean. You never got on his bad side.

Always on a lark, part of the scene, you cross him up and you pay the price.

This song lyric was not inspired by anyone real named Jim.

It was not inspired by anyone of anything except the rain and clouds.

Bad stuff comes out of the sky sometimes, especially in movies and/or tv shows.

Lately, AI has been associated with some bad. Inability to remain within safety guardrails is giving some people, pause, although I cannot cite any specific examples. You can take my word for it, though, but you don’t have to. It’s still a free country last time I checked.

I love how everyone says AI will make us more productive.

AI is not that scary to me as I have a pretty good idea that there is more good than bad.

People will not be better writers because of it; they will just write like they did before using it. This means they will write like AI.

I’m trying to get these words for this post down on digital paper as fast as I can.

I dealt with a representative from my ISP earlier today who wanted to sell me a collective package of AI resources that would exponentially (my words, not theirs) increase my creativity. The problem with this notion is AI is not that creative to begin with. It’s more like a robot trying to write the great American novel. The tech is not quite there yet, but it’s good enough for most web sites used to utilizing tech in its infancy.

The rep went on to relate that there are only so many things they can do behind the scene to increase performance. Support areas are still in silos, unfortunately. And, their main selling points are mediocre increased writing volume, especially for those of us who learned a long time ago on something called pencil meets paper.

So, it’s basically an increased number of robotic sounding articles in spite of the earnestness of all the prompts the AI receives. Nothing can take the place of actual literate humans completing the creative work. I do give credit where credit is due and that is where replicating vast amounts of inhuman-like writing is deemed good enough for most work.

Pilates as physical fitness routine

I signed up for the value pack and while it may be a coincidence, my hip feels better. I don’t know if it’s because of the movements the instructors have me doing or what, but I’ll take feeling good over the alternative no matter the reason.

Retirement and structure revisited

As I stated previously in another post, retirement has an expiration date of sorts. I have slowly ramped up my activity level to include “considering” opening the guitar case and taking out its contents for a spin again. Always a streaky player, I’ll just see where the music takes me.

And one fine cloudy day, my superior half will join me in the endeavor. More to come so stay tuned.
