There’s nothing like talking to someone who resides in a warm place during the coldest part of the winter, to give you a respite from the ice and snow that has befallen much of the country.

That is why I suggest calling someone where it’s not freezing outside.

Loving the cold is not all it’s cracked up to be.

Hot, cold, or indifferent

I say I’d rather be cold than hot. Some days during recent extended cold spells, I’m no longer so sure of that. I’d rather be hot than cold I’m thinking now. My better half is over the winter and sadly, so am I.

If the power stays on it’s kind of cozy.

Comfort food tastes best during the cold winter months. The problem with cold winter months however is how much more I’m inclined to eat.

We used to hear, “Gotta keep your strength up” as a rallying cry and excuse to overeat during winter. I guess you can put on more pounds that way. If you exercise, adequately, however, and have somewhat of high body metabolism, you may be able to overcome, or at least keep at bay, any poundage that might result.

Nachos rule

I’ll no longer have excuses to each nachos weekly again until September when the NFL resumes games again on Sundays. I suppose I could still eat them, but they would not have “football” flavor, which essentially means they’re very spicy hot.

Is spicy hot during the summer months good? Of course, it is. But you might want to consider a cold adult beverage of choice to accompany it for even more flavor.

My motto as a kid was eat, sleep, drink and enjoy. I suppose I have tried to live it throughout my life to date. It’s gotten me this far and I hope to continue for the foreseeable future.

Eating too healthily or being a picky eater is a kind of stress I do not want to endure. Remember the old joke about seafood diets? You see food and you eat it?

I’ve never been a high maintenance guy. Wherever I’ve lived I’ve tried to do as the local citizenry do. So far I’ve been able to indulge in things largely because I don’t stress over them.

Brady time

Is it healthy?

Is it not healthy?

Is it bland?

Is it too salty?

Should I drink tea with it instead of a cold beer?

What can I do to convert biscuits and gravy into a healthy breakfast?

These are the questions I have not asked myself. And in not doing so, I’ve kept my stress levels down.

Tom Brady eats a certain regimen of foods. His goal is to play football past the age of 45. It’s admirable. It’s also not a common aspiration of the masses.

No matter what Tom Brady’s diet is or whatever it is Brady’s training guru Alex Guerrero does, eventually, Father Time will kick in and take Brady’s ability to play a kid’s game away from him. He truly believes all he does will give him the edge he needs to play as long as possible.

The thought of all of this is stressing me out.

Nah, not really. I just remembered I have some chocolate laying around.

I don’t know if it’s dark or whatever the healthy kind is, but doesn’t the thought of random chocolate sound good right about now?

Doesn’t matter if you’re somewhere cold or warm, either.

Get yourself some!
