Ever run into a space shortage for all things google?

You know what I’m talking about if you ever have.

The first alert you get is probably on your phone from the google god geeks.

It’s a warning that portends your inability to receive an email soon if you don’t pay to upgrade the amount of storage you have or you don’t manually remove some files to make room.

Gmail is free unless you need more than 15 GB of storage.

That much storage used to be huge 10 years ago.

It’s only a drop in the bucket today (unless you still live under a rock and do not own a cell phone).

Anyway, that’s the end of my complaining as since I recently went to a subscription-based blog, I can hardly talk about how lousy it is for web-based email providers to charge for additional storage.

Three day weekends

Ok, anyone who knows me and has read my stuff over the years occasionally finds at least a part of a piece that heralds the merits of the three-day weekend. I personally love the idea and in these pandemic times we live in think it makes more sense than ever.

The numbers of those with poor mental states have increased since the onset of Uncle Covid’s visit to us all.

I don’t know about you, but having one more day off at the end of the week, especially if you’re a non-essential worker, might make the difference in how you feel, especially if the third day off is Monday.

Happy Monday indeed!

BLT’s

I think I’m going to have a BLT or two this evening for supper.

I think BLT’s get forgotten in terms of their being food items that get overlooked since they are not normally part of most people’s weekly food rotation.

Bacon is always good.

Until we get three-day weekends and Mondays off, a BLT on a Sunday evening might just make the difference on whether or not we have sweet dreams heading into Monday.

Senior Discounts

If you live long enough to be old you deserve a discount when you shop or dine in certain establishments.

The problem with discounts at places like restaurants is these places have been hit especially hard by Uncle Covid. Many places that shuttered aren’t opening back up at all. Senior discounts would appear to be bygone vestiges of the good times before the Covid plague.

I don’t feel too bad, though, as I still haven’t heard of any junior discounts. Kids eat for free is not a discount. It’s a giveaway.

Veteran Discounts

Many veterans are seniors. Like seniors, however, Uncle Covid does not make it easy for establishments to offer discounts to veterans. This is more than unfortunate as while we all are struggling to one degree or another with current events being what they are, as with senior care, we should also be taking better care of our vets.

No excuses, either. We just need to do better.

Happy Endings

I was going to make the header above read, “Happy Anything.”

The cardboard cutout fans in seats at MLB ballparks across the country continue to not be a sight for sore eyes.

My wife noticed one had on a tie and suit.

She thought it looked out of place.

I agreed.

Happily.
