When it comes to computer operating systems, no amount of hype for the latest and greatest should make any of you think about changing your daily driver and OS unless your back is up against the wall.
What I mean by this is that sometimes software vendors break the ability of less recent computers to run the latest version of the software, creating the necessity of upgrading your hardware to meet minimum requirements so you can run the latest software (with the most up to date security enhancements).
Windows 11 and Zorin OS 16 have recently been released.
I would say if Windows 10 and Zorin OS 15 are doing everything you need (as they are for me), then sit tight, ride it out and continue to collect your return on investment.
No one should have to face the prospect of buying new hardware on the three to four year cycles that computer manufacturers try to get us to adopt.
If something works for you, whether it be computers and/or software, I suggest you ride out your current setup as long as it does.
End of story.
Cardinals and Yankees eliminated
Unfortunately, my baseball viewing season has ended with the elimination of both the Cardinals and Yankees.
The Cardinals are not in disarray, however, but the Yankees are.
There is so much wrong with the Yankees’ makeup that I can’t bring me to waste precious copy on them.
The Cardinals are way closer to being a World Champion with a healthy mix of players–young and veteran, that will keep them in the thick of things next year and beyond.
Enough said.
Bears throwing Fields into the mix
The Chicago Bears are starting rookie quarterback Justin Fields.
I hope he stays uninjured.
Rookie quarterbacks have had a rough go of it so far this NFL season.
Fields had a good game last week against the Lions.
But the Bears played the Lions.
The Bears will face off against the Raiders on Sunday. The Raiders are better than they’ve been in recent seasons, but they’re still the Raiders.
I’m not convinced they have cracked elite team status, at least not just yet.
So, I’m picking the Bears and Fields to prevail in Vegas.
Yes, Justin will be running for his life if the porous Bears offensive line is any indicator. However, he is young and mobile, and it says here Fields will make enough plays with his legs and arm that will see the Bears to another W.
Get out
Get your behinds moving this autumn weekend and go outside.
You don’t have to find a pumpkin patch, maybe just your backyard or a walkway in some park.
If you are thinking of upgrading to Windows 11 or Zorin 16, forget about it.
I have, and you should too.
The weekends were meant for playing and being outdoors.
Sure, you might say you want to stay indoors and work on something in front of the computer.
If you’re already in front of your computer or phone Monday thru Friday like I am, do yourself a favor.
Get out.
I mean it.
Get out already.
