I alluded to the Elton John concert I was about to attend in my last column.

The good news is that he and his band crushed the show.

The bad news is nonexistent.

The Elton John concert made me wish I’d seen him in his heyday, but hey, I can’t complain, as like I said, he just flat out killed it.

Enough said on Sir Elton and the boys.

How are you?

Okay?

That’s pretty much what I hear these days.

Everyone seems pretty stressed for one reason or another.

Stress management gurus must be having a field day.

I like listening to music every day.

My dogs listen to classical music each day, and by extension, so do I.

Music is pretty good for the body, mind, and soul.

When I was in the Navy, I always kept a beater guitar around in case I couldn’t hear music for whatever reason. When you get a new duty station, you don’t know anyone.

Feeling alone can be stressful, and music provides welcome peace even playing it.

Anyway, that is enough about me.

How about this crazy world in which we live?

Stress abounds at every corner, it seems.

If you can’t play or listen to music, how about just singing to relieve stress?

If you are nervous about your voice, try singing in the shower.

This way, you can think you sound like a rock star.

If you think you sound like a rock star, who cares what anyone else thinks, right?

If we can quit looking for reaffirmation and understand we are good enough just as we are, I believe stress levels would go down.

Wishing for news

Sports, particularly reading about sports, was always a stress buster in the days when daily newspapers ruled the news world.

There is no news world anymore as sports journalism is no longer an art.

So, what’s a fan to do?

I suppose I could read a biography of a professional athlete I admire.

The last biography I read was a few years back. It was a Mickey Mantle biography.

It was a pretty quick read by my standards.

I finished it in a few weeks, if I recall correctly.

Reading is a stress buster because it takes your mind off whatever is stressing you out.

When I had the chance to read multiple daily newspapers from cover to cover, I’m sure I was as stress-free as ever.

I skimmed over the less savory news stories in favor of sports features, but that’s how I roll.

Frozen Food

You can find comfort in frozen food.

Check that.

I can find comfort in frozen food.

I know that some ingredients in frozen food are harmful to you.

But frozen food has come a long way since I ate Swanson TV dinners as a child.

I never consumed frozen dinners seven days a week, but I’m sure I’d be alright if I had to do it.

Frozen food has gotten a lot better for us over the years.

I don’t think it has to lead to a decline in health.

I guess you should consume all things in moderation–like this blogging deal.

I’m only stopping until the next post.
