You could make a case that Friday is the best day of the week for a working stiff.

It’s especially sweet when you are able to take Friday off and then embark on a three-day weekend.

I’d enjoy three-day weekends every week. Over the years my body has repeatedly reminded me that four-day work weeks are just fine, thank you very much.

Experiencing a cool down of sorts weather-wise–it’s only in the upper 80s today. I’m not getting much beyond the actual temperature regarding my weather explorations. It’s probably humid outside and the heat index will approach severely uncomfortable levels this afternoon.

As long as you have air conditioning, you can weather the heat.

Whether or not you do, is something I personally do not take for granted.

We have an old hot water heater and an old AC unit. It’s hard to be on top of everything maintenance-wise, especially considering the fact we are living in times of high inflation.

Five dollar a gallon gasoline prices are concerning.

It’s going to be a tough ask for companies to get anyone who has been working from home to return to offices now that Covid seems to be less of a concern.

The cost of commuting an hour and a half to two hours a day is not something most current at home workers will look forward to.

Taking time out to ramble

It wouldn’t be another post if we didn’t have a free-flowing section and so let me begin by talking briefly about wireless printing.

The fact we still print at all is silly to me, but if you have to do it, wireless printing is the way to go.

If your printer works wirelessly, take that boat anchor of a device and stick it in a closet out of site. If you don’t have many obstructions, the printer will work when you need to use it. When it’s in the closet, it’s also out of sight, and by extension out of mind; not to mention it gathers less dust in a closet than where I have my old printer currently located.

Second random thought

It looks like Verizon 5G Home Internet service is available in my area.

I’m tempted to jump ship, but will do some research before acting out and regretting it.

My current service is fine, and as they say if ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Don’t take the bait and switch unless you are absolutely fed up with your current service.

Time for a word about integrity

Companies whose employees act without integrity will not avoid the consequences for their doing so.

You know the old adage that a reputation takes 20 years to create and 20 minutes to destroy.

Do the right thing and service what you sell until the customer is satisfied.

That’s what people with integrity do.

Da Bears

Name the starting left tackle for the Bears.

I didn’t think you could.

The only way that Justin Fields can be a game manager with the Bears being successful is for management to build a complete team around him.

Until such time, Mr. Fields will have to be a franchise quarterback.

Unless the Bears defense is the reincarnation of the Monsters of the Midway, the Bears and their second year quarterback will not have the luxury of managing the game clock.

Fields will have to make plays without much help.

Here’s hoping Fields can live up to the hype, remain upright, and lead the Bears to more victories than not.
