What a fix-it type of day today was.
It has had a little bit of everything, but mostly not all that much.
That is because there are only so many hours in a day.
That is also one of my favorite clichés.
Yet, it always seems to hold true.
Had a good workout to start the day.
When I returned I had some breakfast, nothing major, just my usual oatmeal, blueberries, a couple of mandarin cuties, and some keto diet toast with peanut butter.
I’m not on a keto diet per se, I just like the toast. Full disclosure, I usually have berry bagels instead of the keto toast–which was just something new to try.
When I’m finished with the loaf of keto bread I probably won’t buy it again. It was alright, but peanut butter just slathers much better on a berry bagel. You might say a berry bagel with peanut butter is berry nice.
Off to the next thing
I’ve been beating back my allergies with a combination of Flonase and a 24-hour over-the-counter antihistamine. I think I could have mentioned this in my last post, but I’m too busy at the moment to check it. I’m in a groove again, and I’ve found out the hard way it’s best to just stay in the groove while it lasts, instead of thinking you can do something else for a bit, return, and still be in the groove.
While staying in the groove may be possible, getting out of my groove, even if only for a short time, just ends up with me looking at a blank page on the screen. You get the picture! Haha!
Where was I? I took a minute to admire what I’ve written so far and returned, thinking (foolishly) that I could find my way back to da groove. It didn’t work and so I must go off to the next thing that comes to mind.
All things computer-related
Updated my install of Deepin Debian Linux operating system to version 20.5 today.
It still feels slow compared to Windows 10 on the same computer.
It is very pretty and all the eye candy may be what’s contributing to my impression that it moves glacier-like in comparison with Windows 10.
The developers may be planning to give Windows 11 a run for its money, but Deepin has not improved enough for me to spend too much time on it.
Windows 10 is mature, it runs on old hardware like I love to use, and I’ve grown accustomed to its (inter) face. So there!
All things somewhat computer-related
The old Bose SoundLink Mini 2 Bluetooth speaker we’ve had in use as part of our home audio capabilities finally bit the dust today.
Or so we initially thought.
It was suffering from the dreaded rapidly flashing red light syndrome.
I started to try to remove the battery, but I stopped before I got too far involved.
I researched a bit on the Internet for a replacement battery for it, as it still had the original battery inside.
Dude on eBay said not to buy the battery to cure red light flashing syndrome. It doesn’t help that.
I thought, great, but I still have to figure out what the problem is.
After a few searches, it turns out Bose has a software update that addresses the issue.
I plugged the Bose speaker into my Windows 10 tower, downloaded, and installed the update. Problem solved.
I could go on, but what better way to end this than on a high note.
Besides, you guys know I’ve historically left you wanting more on several occasions.
This time is no different.
