Lina Lou is a beauty queen. She is the relaxed, occasionally head-banging, happy, and well not really relaxed pitbull female dog.

It’s one of those things. Quickly as she is pacing unrecognizably, she is laying down and licking her paws, sticking her snoot off to the side of one of them.

Completely relaxed?

Don’t count on it.

I remember when we first got her and she went air from the couch to the stairs–something like 10 feet or more before landing a few steps up on the stairs.

She is much better than she used to be.

That’s the power of love

What worked best to get Lina to live her best life?

That’s right. Love.

You can’t underestimate it.

It does way more than dominate song-writers’ psyches.

When did hard drives become hard disks?

This is what happens when you have love-free tech design.

Or at least love (and not profit) should inspire tech design.

A little birdie just told me hard drives are shorthand for hard disk drives; hard disks are the things inside them. Your data is saved on whichever of the three you prefer to call it.

And each devoid of love.

Is love comprised of snores?

I would suggest it is. And dog snores at that.

Rain as motivator

Even at its prospect, rain is a very influential force. It can change everything. The mood becomes suddenly jagged, creaking with slowness until it’s not.

What happens when love goes out the door?

Lina does not like it.

If at least one of her parents stays home she is not that worked up, although she can pine if mom is the one who’s running an errand. Kind of like a dad is here still, and we’re alright kind of vibe.

We’re not going to get into what is making love in this missive. There is simply not enough time. Techie things like hard disks and hard disk drives take forever to spin up sometimes. Except when they’re solid state.

Or when it’s raining.

The lack of love is still evident.

Besides, youngsters are reading these lines.

Here is where you insert the smile emoji or a reasonable facsimile thereof.

It’d be a not so good thing if you could not relax, rest as much as you needed to feel good. I would imagine in Lina’s case, she is young enough where she can pace more than she needs to, and still not require as much sleep as she will when she gets older.

Restorative sleep is one of my favorite two-word combinations.

Jumbo shrimp was one a long time ago and was, and still, is a favorite oxymoron of mine.

The epilogue or the end?

As a young boy, I enjoyed the FBI television show with Efrem Zimbalist Jr. There was a part of the show that was like an ending after the ending had already happened. It was called the epilogue.

The epilogue gave some more details and wrapped up occasional loose ends.

As the show ended, this time for good, I sought, without knowing it, restorative sleep.

I know I just needed sleep back then, and that I also had love.

The dogs snored, Lina included, and concluded.

The headline was a rhetorical question.
