You know your lawn is out of control when you spend more time weed whacking than clipping it with the mower.

Spring means the return of lawn care.

In our case, it’s mostly weed care or lack thereof.

A wise old guy once told me you can either have dogs or a lawn; this seems to really apply now in our case.

One thing I did not consider with all the weed whacking I did on Saturday was how much it would activate my hay fever.

I woke up Sunday sounding like Rod Stewart meets Bob Seger, only better (insert rolling on the floor laughing out loud emoji).

Seriously, those weed clippings have a boatload of allergens and if like me, you didn’t have allergies until reaching adulthood, they can be pretty bad.

I’m still not taking Flonase.

I took some Chinese herbs my better half gave me and my symptoms were marginally better.

l will try and remember to wear a mask next time I whack those weeds.

I’m already wearing earplugs in a quest to help preserve what’s left of my hearing,

I’ll have to wear the mask next time, though, if I don’t want to go through feeling miserable again.

Kentucky Derby 2022

One of the best horse races I’ve ever seen!

You really know you’re alive when you can hear the thundering hooves as they make their way around the track.

The race featured a long-shot winner hardly anyone ever heard of.

After this race, though, Rich Strike will no longer languor in anonymity.

End of an era

My Chromebook stops receiving updates in June.

It was a good run for one of the best devices I’ve ever owned.

My Chromebook could do it all.

It soon won’t be able to stay current with the latest Chrome OS.

That makes me sad, but it will possibly be time to welcome a new addition into the tech fold.

Speaking of end of an era

I have a large Riviera Black Hawk Casino cup full of dried up markers, pens and pencils.

I thought I’d actually need a volume of writing implements like that in order to do substantial writing.

Turns out, I really have no need for anything other than the pencils, as the pens and markers are all dried up.

I remember when office supplies were a thing.

Yahtzee

Ever play it? I’m staring at a game box for it.

We used to play when we were kids.

I should get back into it some time, so I’ll leave the box plainly in view so I’ll be reminded to revisit it again.

I think my revisiting Yahtzee could be a greater long-shot than Rich Strike.

Drink more water

No, I don’t mean light beer.

Now that the temperatures are beginning to climb it’s time to get back on the water bandwagon (in case you were off of it).

Staying hydrated is important.

Aside from urinating more frequently, when it comes to drinking water, the rest is all good.
